A housing society must secure consent from at least 51% to 70% of its members (depending on the project type) to initiate redevelopment.
The society appoints a PMC to guide the technical, legal, and financial aspects of the project.
The PMC conducts a feasibility report and invites tenders from reputed developers.
A formal agreement is signed between the society and the developer, along with a Power of Attorney for project execution.
The developer obtains necessary approvals from authorities like MCGM/TMC, MHADA, SRA, and secures IOD (Intimation of Disapproval) and CC (Commencement Certificate).
Residents are temporarily shifted to transit accommodations or given rent as per the agreement.
The old building is safely demolished following safety and environmental norms.
